I want to share my garden with you. It’s nothing special but for many years it was my dream to have such a plot. The garden consists of two small fields surrounded by typical Derbyshire dry stone walls. If you don’t know what they are then all I can say is that it takes skill and energy to stack flat(ish) stones in such a way to make a wall that can withstand cattle, the weather and people!
In 2003 the plot was a tangled mass of weeds. It took a while to clear and cultivate. Some photographs follow which show the first few weeks/months. It was more like a small civil engineering project than gardening!
|This is what we found on the first day!|
|And this is what we left at the end of day 2 after clearing most of the weeds and moving in a small tool store and compost bins.|
