It would be good if UK national parks encouraged people to grow food like Singapore Nparks are doing. What is stopping them?
My challenge to them is to match what other countries do to help and support local communities to grow food. Covid-19 has taught us that supplies of fresh fruit and veg are at best precarious, we need a more diverse and resilient food system. Vandana Shiva goes further saying: “Our toxic food system must not survive the crisis.” [Resurgence & Ecologist, Issue 321 pp11-12]
